MTN Zambia has rolled out a new digital lifestyle application, AppJoy, aimed at making smartphones more useful and accessible, especially for first-time users entering the digital space.
The platform, created by Muen in collaboration with Huawei, is preloaded on MTN’s affordable Alola smartphone range. AppJoy brings together short-form video content, mobile gaming and secure cloud storage on a single, easy-to-use platform.
Speaking at the launch, Minister of Technology and Science Felix Mutati said the application demonstrates how innovation can translate into practical digital benefits for everyday Zambians.
He noted that integrating AppJoy into low-cost smartphones lowers barriers to digital participation and allows users to access online services and content more conveniently.
MTN Zambia chief executive officer Abbad Reda said the introduction of AppJoy enhances the value of the Alola smartphone range by offering users a more interactive and functional digital experience.
He added that the application aligns with MTN’s drive to broaden smartphone adoption and deepen digital inclusion across Zambia.
Huawei vice president Alex Xing said the initiative reflects a shared vision of building an inclusive digital environment that supports local content, innovation and new smartphone users.
AppJoy is expected to support digital creativity, entertainment and wider online engagement, contributing to Zambia’s ongoing digital transformation efforts. The application is now available on all Alola 4G and Alola Max devices at MTN Service Centres countrywide.
