Zambeef Named Zambia’s Top Agricultural Tax Contributor for 2025

Lusaka — Zambeef Products PLC has been recognised by the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) as the leading tax contributor in the agriculture sector for 2025, marking the company’s second such award in two years and reaffirming its position as one of the country’s most compliant and impactful corporate taxpayers.

The award reflects Zambeef’s steady rise in tax contributions over the past five years, driven by a strategic expansion programme aimed at doubling production capacity and strengthening its presence across the region. The company has consistently highlighted formal compliance and operational efficiency as core pillars of its growth model.

In 2022, Zambeef announced a US$100 million capacity expansion investment, a move designed to enhance production output, modernise infrastructure, and scale up its supply chain to meet growing domestic and regional demand for high-quality, affordable food products.

Commenting on the latest recognition, Zambeef Chief Financial Officer Patrick Kalifungwa said the accolade underscores the company’s long-term commitment to responsible business conduct.

“As Zambeef, this award means a lot. It signals our investment intent to expand the business, optimise processes, drive efficiencies, pay our tax obligations on time and, above all, be a good corporate tax citizen who believes in contributing to national development,” Mr. Kalifungwa said.

ZRA’s recognition positions Zambeef as a key contributor not only to the national treasury but also to efforts aimed at strengthening Zambia’s agro-processing and food manufacturing value chains. With its ongoing expansion programme, the company is expected to deepen its economic footprint through job creation, increased local sourcing, and enhanced export potential.

Industry analysts note that Zambeef’s consistent tax compliance contributes to fiscal stability while reinforcing the private sector’s role in supporting national development priorities.
