Lusaka — The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) is set to officially launch the National Child Online Protection (COP) Strategy 2025–2029, with just three days remaining to the highly anticipated presentation.
The strategy aims to ensure that Zambian children can learn, connect, and explore the digital world safely and confidently. Through this initiative, the government and key stakeholders reaffirm their commitment to protecting and empowering children online, creating a digital environment that prioritizes opportunity over risk.
The official launch will take place virtually via Microsoft Teams, bringing together policymakers, educators, parents, and digital safety experts to discuss the implementation and key objectives of the strategy. The initiative will cover guidelines, safety measures, and awareness campaigns designed to safeguard children from online harm, including cyberbullying, exploitation, and inappropriate content.
“Every child deserves a digital space where they can thrive without fear,” ZICTA said. “The COP Strategy 2025–2029 reflects Zambia’s renewed commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering digital future for all children.”
The strategy will guide actions over the next five years, fostering collaboration among government agencies, civil society, the private sector, and parents to strengthen online child protection frameworks in Zambia.
