ZRA Hosts 2025 Sports Day to Promote Staff Wellness

Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) yesterday hosted its 2025 Sports Day in Lusaka as part of ongoing efforts to promote the mental and physical well-being of its workforce.

The annual event brought together staff from the ZRA Midland Region, including Kapiri Mposhi, Kabwe, Chirundu, Kariba, Luangwa and Lusaka, and was held at the University of Lusaka’s Silverest Campus Grounds.

ZRA Commissioner General Dingani Banda led the activities by taking part in a 5-kilometre walk to the venue, setting the tone for a day focused on health, teamwork and staff engagement.

Addressing staff, Mr Banda said sporting activities play a vital role in building team spirit while also improving overall health and well-being. He emphasised the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, noting that a fit and motivated workforce is essential to the Authority’s mandate.

He added that staff wellness is directly linked to ZRA’s ability to sustain revenue collection, which remains critical to supporting national development.

Participants took part in a wide range of sporting disciplines, including football, netball, basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, table tennis, darts, pool, tug-of-war and chess.

The event was held under the theme, “Highlighting the importance of staff wellness in revenue collection,” reinforcing ZRA’s commitment to nurturing a healthy and productive workforce.
